Porsche to Showcase New 991 911 Sports Car
Porsche will soon showcase a new 911 model, the new 991 series at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. With this new car, the manufacturer has not only put greater emphasis on the involvement of the driver, but also wants to bring about important changes in the economy and emissions area.

Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid - Green Car
Let me put forth the car that is many times superior in performance than the previous ones! Though its not completely an electric vehicle, the new Porsche 918 SPYDER is surely set to impress.
When Porsche designs a concept car, its not just fooling around. The German automobiles giant never disappoints in getting the concept into reality! The 918 Spyder, which looks much like the Carrera GT and is dubbed as its successor, is the first plug-in hybrid car by Porsche and its expected price is whopping $630,000! The car is expected to be out in 2 or 3 years.
So what makes this car different from the other electric/hybrid cars? Why is its price so higher than the others? Let’s take a look:
1)The 918 hybrid has a 3.4 liter- 500 horsepower petrol V8 along with two electric motors, one for each axel. These two motors add up another 160kW (218hp) that makes a total power of 718 hp!
Because of so much power, the car races from 0 to 100 Km/hr in just 3.2 seconds which is much quicker than the e-TRON and the eDRIVE.
2)With a top speed of 319 Km/hr, the 918 breaks the record of the fossil fuel powered V10 Carrera GT in crossing the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in Germany’s Black Forest. (The top speed is not even comparable with the top speeds of Audi e-TRON and Merc eDRIVE!)
3)Forget the top speed; if this vehicle is driven economically, it consumes as little as 3 liters of petrol per 100 Km of driving. That surely makes it a “GREEN” car with just 70 grams of CO2 emission per kilometer. Toyota Prius, among the greenest cars being sold around the world, emits 89g/km. For gas-powered supercars, the worst CO2 emission offender is Lamborghini Murciélago that emits 480g/km!
4)The spider weighs just 1490 Kilograms, much lighter than the 2000 Kg Audi e-TRON that suffers a lot due to its heavy weight.
5)The SPYDER has another advantage. Being hybrid, it can travel a distance of about 25 Kilometers on electricity alone!
6)The Porsche 918 SPYDER surely impresses. It promises a performance of a supercar without causing much damage to the environment. Hybrid cars are finding a lot of demand if compared to the EVs. But I feel that the future lies in the EVs itself. Hybrids are here to temporarily replace the fossil fuel based cars that are adding a lot of pollution. As the research is advancing in the field of electric vehicles, we may soon have a complete electric car replacing the 918! But as of now, The Porsche 918 SPYDER is set to rock the world!

Porsche 911 GT3 RS version 4.0 Unleashed
The best of the GT3 RS is finally here and now with a bigger 4 litre engine, it promises to be everything that its predecessor wasn't.
After years of being powered by naturally aspirated and force induced 3.6 and 3.8 litre engines, Porsche has finally moved the game up with the all new 911 GT3 RS 4.0. The 911 GT3 RS, one of Porsche's most popular, coveted and successful track-inspired production cars, has been given a final, thrilling injection of thoroughbred motorsport technology. Limited to 600 vehicles worldwide, the 911 GT3 RS 4.0 brings together in a sports car the attributes that have made the Porsche 911 GT3 a consistent winner on the race track.
Coming to the new engine, the race derived 4.0 engine, already the highest displacement 911 engine ever, also features the highest per-liter output -- 125 horsepower per liter from a naturally aspirated Porsche flat-six engine. The engine uses forged pistons, the connecting rods are fashioned from titanium, and the crankshaft has been lifted unchanged from the 911 GT3 RSR race car. It achieves its maximum power of 500 hp at 8,250 rpm. Maximum torque of 460 Nm is reached at 5,750 rpm.
If the car is special, then it has to look special as well. This limited edition 911 is painted Carrara White as standard and emphasizes its proximity to motor racing by its dynamic appearance. Setting it apart is the wide track, the low vehicle position, the large rear wing with side plates, central twin tailpipe, and the aerodynamically optimized body. Air deflection vanes mounted on either side of the front bumper called 'flics' or dive planes – make their first appearance on a production Porsche. They create increased downforce on the front axle, and together with the steeply inclined rear wing, provide aerodynamics on par with its performance capabilities. As a result, at the 308 km/h top track speed, aerodynamic forces exert an additional 194 kg of downforce, thus pushing the 911 GT3 RS 4.0 onto the road.
This is possibly the last of the GT3 till the new model comes out. However its definitely one of the best coming out of the gates of Stuttgart.
